The city is a collage terraced in hotels, a city nestled in photographs and radio transmissions; a twilight dream state. It drifts in the recollections of hash crazed seekers, shapeshifters and Beatniks on the run. It is a nexus for go betweens and counterfeiters; a montage redrawn by the coloniser. The streets are whipped into arabesques where kief smoke lingers in blue shadows. The rock and roll singer lost his mind in the Casbah. The invisible man leaves his garret looking for the assassins, the Mediterranean sparkling below.
